SUITE GREEN
Project Overview - These clients called upon our Central Indiana design team to envision a home addition that would create dedicated spaces for Mom and Dad’s work, crafting, sleep and personal care. They asked for space, light and color - areas to relax and recharge, as well as room to focus on their work away from the foot traffic of daily life.
Client Description - A software engineer married to an entrepreneurial shop-owner, these homeowners are Bloomington makers and community builders, and long-time friends of SYH. Over the years, they've cultivated a rich collection of plants, books, art, and meaningful objects that tell their family's story. As the offspring and pets living under their roof span nearly two decades, it was clear that new spaces were needed to accommodate everyone. With thoughtful listening and expert space planning, our holistic architectural and interior design approach led to an addition that allows this family’s busy life to unfold, if not seamlessly, with a lot more elbow room than before.
Design Solutions - Our architectural design team approached this home renovation with a focus on creating multifunctional spaces filled with natural light and color. The new wing leaves the living spaces of the main house available for family life and gives Mom & Dad a (few) new room(s) of their own. This custom home addition prioritized both shared and personal spaces, accommodating the family's professional and creative pursuits while maintaining areas for rest and recharging.
Outcomes & Testimonials - This Bloomington home renovation exemplifies our ability to create spaces that grow with our clients' needs. The project successfully balances family togetherness with private retreat and work space, demonstrating how thoughtful architectural design can enhance both daily living and work-from-home functionality. The addition provides the parents with their own sanctuary while keeping the heart of the home open for family life to unfold in all its joyful noise.
