WORKING WITH US

guiding you from the first call to the final detail

If you want to build, renovate or furnish a home in Indiana SYH should be your first call! That's not only because we sometimes have a waitlist, but also because we help you articulate your needs and wants, set aesthetic and budgetary expectations, visualize, and prioritize. We work with you to craft a plan so that when it's time to connect you to a builder or start hunting for vintage and artisan pieces, everyone has what they need to be efficient and effective.

Reach out to us to tell us about your project, and a real live human (named Caitlin) will talk with you, suggest services, explain our approach, and schedule an initial consultation. That's when you meet with Susan Yeley. At the initial consultation, we get to know each other and your space or property, hear all your hopes and hang-ups, and offer on-the-spot feedback and advice to help you determine your next steps. If the next step for you is comprehensive architectural and/or interior design services, we pencil you in and launch your project as soon as your name rises to the top.

Once we launch a project, we will follow a tried-and-true and very well-defined process that we call the SYH Experience. We tip-toe step-by-step through Schematic Design and preliminary Estimating for both construction and furniture, ensuring you approve a feel, palette, layout and budget before moving into the more detailed phases of Conceptual Design and Design Development. Clients who contract for only Conceptual scopes walk away with an annotated, scaled floor plan, preliminary estimates, and, depending on the project, a 3d model for direction or a 2d image board with suggestions for a few particular retail-available products. Most of our clients opt for full-service architecture and interior design scopes, for which we go beyond Conceptual Design to specify fixtures, finishes, furniture and decor, and also oversee construction, purchasing, and installation. We guide, organize, communicate, and prioritize. We sweat the details and hold all the pieces, and don't consider the project closed until your punch list is complete.
