sun rooms

designed to BRIGHTEN every season

There’s a quiet kind of magic in a room designed to chase the sun—a space where light pours in, shadows shift throughout the day, and the line between indoors and outdoors feels almost imaginary. We love sunrooms for exactly this reason. They are quite literally bright spots in your home, restorative spaces where plants (and people!) thrive.

When we design sunrooms, we start with the light. We think about orientation, glazing, and seasonal shifts. Is this a space to bask in winter sunlight during Indiana’s grayest months? A breezy three-season room that carries you from crocus time to the last falling leaves? The answers shape every design decision, from window placement to materials that soak up sun without fading — or overheating.

In our Atrium House renovation—designed by mid-century modernist Earl Flansburgh—we embraced the spirit of the original architecture while bringing it into the present. We opened the kitchen to the dining room and the adjacent greenhouse-like sunroom. Dappled sunlight, filtered by trees, fills this space all day long, so you can feel as if you’re outside but with all the comforts inside. Every sunroom we create is tailored to how you’ll actually use it. Do you picture coffee with the morning light? Sunday afternoons with a book and your favorite plant? Quiet conversations as the sun sets low? We select finishes that age beautifully in shifting sunlight, furniture that invites you to linger, and plants that thrive in their new environment. Comfort coexists with function—always.

From crisp solariums to relaxed sun porches, our sunroom designs throughout Bloomington, Indianapolis, and Central Indiana help you experience the beauty of the seasons without needing to put on a coat. Because when natural light meets intentional design, the result is a space you’ll keep coming back to, day after day, season after season.
