Susan has always loved homes! As a young girl growing up in Bloomington, she spent most of her time exploring her family’s 11 acres south of town and riding bikes down to Lake Monroe. But when she was at home, she was drawing houses, decorating them from that trove of haute design, the Sears catalog. She is one of those crazy people who know who they are from childhood, and stick to it: she earned a Bachelors in Interior Design at IU, started her design business in 1996, and has worked for Baker Furniture and Herman Miller. Susan and her husband Eric (ask her the sweet story of how they met) have shared century-old bungalows in Chicago and Nashville, TN, but landed back home in Bloomington in a midcentury tri-level right after their son Charlie was born in 2005. Susan is equally comfortable at a campfire and in a scuba suit, and loves family, feel-good nostalgia, making playlists, and pretending to be a minimalist.
