light filled ranch
Room to Grow
Before: This 1950s limestone ranch had space, but it wasn’t working hard—or feeling good. The kitchen was inefficient, the bedrooms all on top of one another, and the connection to the lovely backyard was, well, more of a disconnection, with weird rooms and additions obstructing both the view and the traffic patterns.
After: A full rework and a major addition brought this home into the present. The original fireplace is now two-way, connecting the 1950s footprint to the new wing and anchoring the public spaces. Two bedroom zones–one for kids and one for parents–orbit the vibrant kitchen/dining/living zones, all of which open onto a central porch and patio. The basement got a new life, too, expanding the home with a guest suite, TV room, storage and workout space. Midcentury spirit plus modern soul: just the recipe for making many more years of memories in this home.
