light filled ranch

Room to Grow

Before: This 1950s limestone ranch had space, but it wasn’t working hardβ€”or feeling good. The kitchen was inefficient, the bedrooms all on top of one another, and the connection to the lovely backyard was, well, more of a disconnection, with weird rooms and additions obstructing both the view and the traffic patterns.

After: A full rework and a major addition brought this home into the present. The original fireplace is now two-way, connecting the 1950s footprint to the new wing and anchoring the public spaces. Two bedroom zones–one for kids and one for parents–orbit the vibrant kitchen/dining/living zones, all of which open onto a central porch and patio. The basement got a new life, too, expanding the home with a guest suite, TV room, storage and workout space. Midcentury spirit plus modern soul: just the recipe for making many more years of memories in this home.
