Exterior Home Design & Curb Appeal - Creating the Perfect First Impression

Curb appeal isn’t just about looking nice for the neighbors. It’s about that split-second when you turn onto your street and think, yep—that’s home.

We design exteriors the same way we do interiors: by paying attention to what already works, and what could work a little better. That might mean rethinking the front path, adding lighting that actually helps after dark, or making small updates to the porch, paint, or plantings that give the whole house a lift. And when the outside needs more than just a touch-up, we’re just as comfortable going bigger—recladding, reframing, or completely reworking the entry to match what’s happening inside.

In our Midcentury Marvel project, we completely refaced the 1958 exterior, swapping in cedar, steel, and simple lines that honored the home’s original spirit while bringing it into the present. In Craftsman Charm, we leaned into what was already there, using color, trim, and landscaping to bring out the best of its century-old bones. And at A Good Vintage, subtle updates to the siding and front porch helped connect the building’s long history to its new life.
